Dr Michael Rtshiladze
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr Rtshiladze is an Australian trained specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He enjoys surgical cases across the spectrum of plastic surgery. His training and special interests include: skin cancer surgery, melanoma management, reconstructive surgery, paediatric plastic surgery and paediatric craniofacial surgery.
Dr Rtshiladze graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He continued training in surgery at multiple tertiary referral centres across the Sydney area. In 2010 he completed a Master of Surgery (MS) at the University of Sydney for which he was awarded the John Loewenthal Medal for his research in skin transplantation.
Dr Rtshiladze then completed specialist surgical training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery culminating in him being awarded a FRACS with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and specialist recognition with AHPRA.
Dr Rtshiladze has completed two post-graduate fellowships in plastic surgery. His first fellowship was at the Melanoma Institute Australia where he undertook further training in the specialist surgical management of skin oncology and melanoma. Following this Dr Rtshiladze sought further sub-specialty expertise through a fellowship in paediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery with the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children in Canada.
Dr Rtshiladze is appointed as a VMO and is a member of the plastic surgery departments at the following tertiary level teaching hospitals:
– The Prince of Wales Hospital
– The St George Hospital
– Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
He is also a member of staff at the Melanoma Institute Australia based in North Sydney.

Dr Rtshiladze has rooms as a plastic surgeon at the following:
– Poche Centre, Melanoma Institute Australia in North Sydney
– St George Private Hospital in Kogarah
Dr Rtshiladze is also appointed as a paediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon at The Children’s Hospital, Randwick and is a member of the multidisciplinary craniofacial team.
Dr Rtshiladze has a keen interest in the ongoing education of current and future medical professionals. He is actively involved in coordinating teaching for NSW plastic surgery trainees. In 2016 he was the local co-ordinator for the Australian and New Zealand Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery RACS fellowship exam.
